The best fighters of the Tournament were Igor Pokrajac (Croatia) and Anthony Fictorie (Holland)
It was a triumphant night for the organizers of the Tournament, Mladen Šančić & Bernard Ban! Even 1400 visitors were registered, in spite of the ice and snow on the road from Zagreb to Samobor. Among the guests of honor there was a significant number of high ranking intellectuals and sport's figures like Prof. dr Tihomil Maštrović, Director of The National and University Library in Zagreb, Mirko „Cro Cop“ Filipović, World champion in diving Kristijan Curavić, one of the coaches of National Boxing Team of Croatia Stjepan Bačurin and representatives of the Government's official sport's organizations, prof. Juro Horvat and Mr Marijan Jurić.
In ten fights we have seen the fighters from six countries (Holland, Iran, Lebanon, Hungary, Bosnia and Croatia). Some teams were lead by legendary stars of the world of martial arts, like Martin van Emmen (twice the World Champion in Tai Boxing) and megastar of Ultimate Fight, Mirko „Cro Cop“ Filipović. The whole Tournament was filmed by Croatian TV station Z-1 and will be also broadcasted on 12 local TV stations in Bosnia. There were no major unjuries but there were quite few knockdowns and TKOs. In the overheated space of the hall „Bogumil Toni“, under the pressure of the fanatical fans, it is almost impossible to judge the real quality of particular fighter because all fighters were prepared very well. Some of them went through some challenging and harsh experiences for which the true spirit is neccessary to be overpowered. Anyhow, by his speed, concentration and skills Igor Pokrajac (Cro Cop Team) left the impression of the best fighter which is not surprising for the man that already has 21 fights in Ultimate Fight (16 wins, 5 losses) and is on the way to UFC. Next best was a Dutch champion Anthony Fictorie. The other fighters worth to be mentioned among better ones are Saša Zorić, Dražen Forgač, Ivica Đebić, Matija Dujnić and Danial Sharifi.
The organization of the Tournament was flawless, but there are some remarks connected to the local authorities. By no means should have the Mayor ignored such a significant international event (although he „delegated“ his son and nephew) which is also the fact for some city's professionals in sports. Same for the other schools of martial arts, particularly karate. Tourist Office again showed to be useless, but nummerable sponsors from Samobor made it up. So, the show will go on. Next year with even more visitors!
