TRAINING CAMP

17 – 19 OCTOBER 2008

A SUPER training camp with so many participants.  This Training Camp was the best ever.  The instruction was of the highest quality possible.  The Instructors and Black Belts who assisted everyone and each other read as a who’s who in our IBK Martial Arts community.  The pictures are added below and you can see these Martial Artists and when you see them they are training like everyone else and assisting and sharing their vast quality and quality of knowledge.

All who were unable to attend missed out on so many things; 1. The highest level of training in Kihons, techniques, combinations, in stand-up fighting, takedowns, and ground fighting were freely and abundantly given; 2.  The fellowship was great; 3.  The accommodations;  4. The Karaoke party, were ‘most’ participated in the singing.

Our/your IBK is getting larger and stronger.  Kaicho and Kancho understand that no one can participate in everything so you are encouraged to keep the web site up-to-date AND to have your Events posted on the “All Events” part of the Web Site.  These events need to be as comprehensive as possible so anyone who desires to participate in them has all of the information they need.

On posting an Event you need to ask yourself what information you need if you were planning to attend it.  That information is what everyone needs.  Some data to consider are: What is the Event about and what are the requirements for participants i.e., fighters, trainers, coaches, managers, the costs, etc; Date and Time of Event; Location of the Event to include town, street address, name of facility (Arena, Dojo, Theater, etc); You may want to include a strip map of how to get there from the nearest largest city; What are the costs for the spectators; Where will the participants stay, i.e., Hotel, and the costs and location of the Hotel or other accommodations;  Name(s),  telephone numbers, and  e-mail address of your staff who will assist those coming.  There can be other data that you can think of that makes it easier for people to decide to come to your Event. The more data you provide the less you have to answer from inquiries and the better chance of people choosing to attend your Event.  Remember there is much going every day and people make choices by how convenient it is.  No one can attend everything so we choice and then save the money and make arrangements for the time off to attend so having your Event posted well in advance is vey important.

Please get your Events through 2009 to Shihan Don Saint as soon as possible and the “All Events” listing will be updated as quickly as possible after Don receives the information from you.  It is preferred that all data sent be from or through the DaiShihans.

Thanks to all who attended and especially to all who so freely gave of their time, and experience in doing the instruction and helping others improve their skills.  Each of you is special.  OSU and RESPECT!

Special thanks are to Kaicho for all he has done, does, and will do and to Kancho our Chairman who has the biggest heart and gives of his time, and energies to the fullest and beyond.  Kancho has infested his family with his enthusiasm and they are working hard with him in all these efforts.

OSU and RESPECT
