The 9th International German IBK Championships were held in the small town of Schwaan, Germany near Rostock on Saturday, April 4th, 2009.
The best Karate Fighters from all over Europe came to participate.
IBK Kancho (Chairman) Henk Kuipers, 8th Dan, opened the tournament at exactly 14:00 Hrs (2PM) with many laudtory words for all. He was assisted by Dai Shihan for Germany, Ralf Fahrun, 6th Dan (Also Tournament Director), and the Dai Shihan of Scandinavia Shihan Tom Madsen, 5th Dan.
Organizations that were repersented were from various European and International Organizations and from various Martial Arts disciplines such as, IBK, su: IKO, ASHIHARA, IBK, SHINKYOKUSHIN, OYAMA- Karate, the GOLDEN GLORY Team. They came to compete for the pretigious titel Internationaler “Deutscher Meister“ (German Champion).
The value for a Champion and placing in the top three were plenty Ther was also recognition for techmical proficiency from IBK Hanshi Bernard Creton, 8th Dan and the representative from England Shihan John Wilson, 6th. Dan.
The winners in each weight class have proven their abilities and their hopes to particpate in the ALL KYOKUSHIN KARATE WORLD TOURNAMENT im October 2009 in Huingary (Ungarn).
Our thanks to all who made these German Championships the great success and the unforgetable event it was.
