The most complete Kyokushin Kihonbook composed conveniently by: Shihan Ruud Muller and Shihan Jan de Bruin. The book that inspires and encourages. Made for all kyokushin students.

“There are tens of millions of students of Kyokushin karate all around the world, divided over many different alliances and organisations. Which at one time work together, but at another time differ in opinion, (may) participate in each others competitions and of which sometimes the leaders see each other more as enemies than colleagues. It is not always easy to understand, but it is reality. However, all these people, old or young, have one thing in common:  they love this hard form of karate with their hearts and souls, the creation of one single man who eventually conquered the world. Kyokushin karate is a unique combat sport. Although… the word sport is not even the right word. Kyokushin is more than that, like founder Sosai Oyama always used to call it, a “way of life”. Indeed, it is a way of life, especially if you figure out how much this art has influenced the lives of the uncountable number of students. To me, and many of the kyokushin karateka I know, this form of karate has really enriched my life. Because of its discipline, because of its etiquette, the hard training and competitions, the respect you built up, not only for your fellow students, but -for outsiders quite unimaginable- also for your opponents, with whom you fight the toughest fights. In addition, the schooling, which is as tough as nails, gives you a guide line for your daily life and you will learn to persist, to have a hard time, to deal with set backs and you will also learn to go on, when you think you have had enough.

I am, and let that be clear, still thankful for ever coming into contact with kyokushin, and the way it gave direction in my life- and that will always be. That is why I am very happy with this book, a great initiative of Shihan Ruud Muller and Shihan Jan de Bruin, two karateka who understand what Kyokushin is all about, who have seen it all and have been through it all in the world of combat sports and were willing to document clearly and conveniently their experiences and insights in a book in such way, that anybody, in spite of alliances or organisations, has use of it. Shihan Ruud and Shihan Jan have put a lot of effort in this book to present clearly and understandably the important basics, the kihon. I am very thankful for what they did and I think that every kyokushin karateka will feel the same. This book has the ability to help develop everybody more, to take extra steps on the long way, which a kyokushin career in fact is.

A real recommendation and my sincere compliments to the writers!”
